Will my Website Design be Cross Browser and Platform Compatible?
No one can really put a second thought on the issue of cross browser compatibility. It is merely a website, the issue will haunt! Why not, even human beings face the adaptability issues in different environments. There is actually no point thinking that it is difficult to make a cross browser compatible website design.

Taking care of certain technical aspects will make your website compatible to different browsers and platforms. This article tends to take you through certain technical aspects, which should be essential kept in mind to make your website work in the way you want. This article will however, not contain a complete and exhaustive list. I believe this will help the beginners.
Resolution of the Screen:  Some people may get confused and think that the screen resolution is all about the clarity of the picture. They are actually partly correct. Screen resolution also implies the width of the page along with the length. While your designer is working on a website design, you have some important things to think about. How will you feel if you need to scroll left and right continuously just because you want to read a complete line. It is irritating. This is what you designer needs to take care of. He/she must use a fluid design that will help the designed website to fit in any given resolution.  In case fixed width is what you are looking for then the selected resolution must not exceed 800X600 pixels. If it does not then you are surely going to annoy your customers.

Color: It sounds artistic but it is actually time to be a little technical! However, to make the topic a little simple, different people use different monitors and different computer. The colour combinations in different systems vary. A CRT monitor will not give the colour quality of a LCD monitor. It is obvious that picture quality will vary in those situations. It is essential that your website design must use a colour combination, which can look good in a system using low colors. High-end systems can adjust accordingly!

Frames: This is somewhat same like the first point of screen resolution but is concerned with the screen size. Website design is a tricky game and the change in technology implies that you need to update yourself continuously. What if a visitor of your website is using a small frame screen resolution and your webmaster designed the website in a large frame screen resolution? They need to scroll right and left to read one complete line. Be aware of the issue and test the website in small frame computers.

JavaScript: Most of the popular browsers support JavaScript. Some of the popular ones are IE, MOZILLA, OPERA, and NETSCAPE etc. Some browsers do not support. If your website design uses JavaScript then make sure that some server side scripts (like PHP) are also included so that the visitors who use browsers, which do not support JavaScript can still use your site.

These are actually some of the issues. There are numerous other issues, which cannot be discussed due to certain limitations. Beware and HAPPY BROWSING!
